The Dalai Lama was asked what surprised him most, he said "Man. Because he sacrifices his health in order to make money. Then he sacrifices money to recuperate his health. And then he is so anxious about the future that he does not enjoy the present; the result being that he does not live in the present or the future; he lives as if he is never going to die, and then dies having never really lived."
This chasing of our tail takes a lot energy. So we look for sources of fresh energy. A great source of personal energy is not necessarily a stimulant or a vitamin pill, but living in the now.
When you're living in the now the burdens of the past, the future, and the concepts of what you think you are and what you think you are supposed to be, are absent.
When burdens are lifted you feel energized.
This is why meditation and Yoga can be so rewarding and even addictive. It is true for any activity or environment which occupies you one hundred percent and in which time flies.
It may even be true for Nonduality Satsang! Join us and perhaps you'll experience the space of the now. At least you'll get to talk about it!
I am bringing a friend. Glad to join you folks again. Look forward to a mindful evening.
